In comparison to its real world counterpart, the Precipice middle east is a sleepy territory in which old powers vie for new opportunities. Dominated by the Turkish empire in its east, the Middle East has seen the rise of a powerful Persian state in its west; the two rival states standing over Iraq like a vulture over it's prey. Earlier in the decade, it was Arabia that would see the full brunt of Persian power, when Persia intervened on a clusterfuck invasion by the Hindu on the Arabian peninsula. The two nations essentially split the conquered territory two ways. Only the separate kingdoms of Najd and Yemen survive, with the holy Hejaz being possessed by Ethiopia; a rising power on the edge of the Middle East whose very existence makes the Persians somewhat nervous.
